The majority of CCTV Systems are what we class as “reactive” rather than “proactive”. Basically people only really use their CCTV system after an event has happened.

For example if a break in has occurred at someones offices, people will to look back and view what has happened hours after the event, maybe on the morning when they arrive at work.

However being informed of a break in or movement the moment it happens is better and more secure form of security – it makes your system proactive.

Our CCTV systems can detect movement and immediately email you a snapshot of the movement that has occurred, giving you immediate notice of any potential crimes and break ins. In addition you can then access the CCTV system from your smartphone and even talk and speak directly to the CCTV camera to warn the intruder that they are being recorded and to leave site.

An overview of the how the system works and its features are below:

Detect motion
The CCTV system can detect motion, and trigger alarms (such as an email) when motion occurs. 4 different ‘zones’ can be set on the image, and sensivity adjusted independantly. Unlike conventional activity detection, the cctv camera uses vector information to detect motion, therefore achieving better reliability against false alarms.

Receive alerts when activity detected
The CCTV system can send you an email when motion is detected, and include a snapshot of the event.

View with your iPhone, Blackberry, or other Internet enabled Mobile Phones
Carry access to your CCTV system around with you, and access them using your browser on your mobile phone, or grab a dedicated app for your phone for easy, instant access.

How so? i hear you ask

With todays technology and internet access so readily available, peoples use of social media (mainly Twitter and Facebook) is increasing day by day

how safe is your social media and online presence?

More and more often we are living out our lives on these social media sites, saying what we are doing, where we are going and for how long, its simply putting the information that a criminal needs right on their screen.

So how can you protect yourself? here are five simple steps:

On Facebook make sure your privacy setting are set so only your friends can see your content.

Only connect and add people who are real friends, do not accept random friend requests from people you don’t know.

Do not post that you are leaving town / going on holiday / will be away from home for a long period of time. this is simply giving the criminal a time window of when he can burgle you!!!

Try not to post pictures that inlude your address of any noticable details that could give your address away.

Avoid posting pictures of expensive items / valuables in your home, its like a shopping selection for the

So there are five simple steps on how you can protect your social media presence from being the burglars information source for burglaing your home. Simple, effective, useful.

We’ve all seen them before, those massive set of keys on a massive keyring, not knowing which one is which, not knowing how many people have however many keys for all the locks in the building. What about the last owners? did they give all the keys back??

This is where Access Control becomes the sensible choice

lots of keys or one access control fob?

As you can see from the picture above, access control make sense when trying to control the security to your building, one simple proximity fob can control multiple doors easily.

Huge bunches of keys can be common place for some sites, especially large sites with many entrances, but what happens if those keys get lost or stolen? The potential cost of this and both the practical and security implications are huge.

With an access control system should a proximity fob be lost by a member of staff it can easily be deleted, and another fob issued, no need to change locks, no need to re-issue loads of keys, if the lost proximity fob is found again it can easily be re-instated onto the system. No fuss, no hassle, still secure.

This gives the owner of the premises total confidence that their premises is secure, something you just can’t say when relying on a lock and key system.

More information on access control systems can be found here http://zodiacsecurity.co.uk/security-services/access-control-systems/

HD Bullet CCTV Camera

Our HD CCTV bullet camera shows crisp High Definition 720p video images. for a truly outstanding HD experience, and is particuarly useful for covering areas where greater image detail and clarity is required.

If any motion is detected, the HD camera can instantly email you an alert with snapshot.

You can even monitor the HD camera remotely via your smartphone (iphone / blackerry) from anywhere in the world, so if you get a notification of movement you can instantly view what is happening at your property.

HD CCTV essentially allows you to view images in a fuller, deeper and clearer way than ever before, and the best thing is, its now affordable for everyone!!

The dark days of winter, especially Xmas and the New Year are when burglary rates are at thier highest. We have put together a list of ten simple things you can do to keep your home safe and protected this Christmas.

Simple and easy tip to start with, make sure all doors and windows are locked at all times.

Keep all valuable items and presents away from windows so they can’t be seen easily.

Mark all valuable items with a UV marker pen.

Avoid leaving tools or items in the garden that burglars could use.

External security lighting is useful for safety and security.

Use a time switch to turn on lights and radios in the house to make it seem occupied.

Avoid leaving keys anywhere near your front door to avoid “fishing”.

Become part of the neighbour watch scheme to look after your neighbours and them for you.

Keep low hedges and fences to a minimum, they give the burglar great cover from being seen.

A burglar alarm is a massive visual deterrent. Have you got one?

These tips are mainly common sense and very simple, however they are also a highly effective way of keeping your home safe this Christmas.
