To mark the 100th anniversary of the outbreak of World War One, A statue of Sgt Charlie Robbins, a World War One soldier, hidden on a Somerset trading estate for years, has been moved and dedicated. The statue has been moved from outside the old Singer building, on the Marston Trading Estate, to the Frome Memorial Garden outside the town’s Memorial Theatre.
As part of the relocation task, Zodiac Security Ltd were asked to install a 2 camera external HD CCTV system to cover and protect the statue 24 hours a day to deter and prevent any damage or vandalism to the statue.
Each external dome incorporates infra red lighting to allow for viewing no matter what the lighting levels are outside the theatre and are vandal resistant to ensure no damage can be done to any of the cameras. The cctv cameras link to a HD digital video recorder that records 24 hours per day to provide constant monitoring of the statue.
CCTV warning signs have also been fixed in various locations around the theatre to warn any persons on the property that they are being recorded for both safety and security purposes.

As it uses traditional CCTV cabling you can easily upgrade your existing analogue system to this new HD CCTV system using all the old cabling – keeping the price even lower!!!
If you have broadband where the CCTV system is being installed then your new CCTV systems can be connected to it and you will then be able to view it remotely from PC’s, laptops, tablets or smartphones. Q: Can I trust the employees of the security company when in my home?
A: All relevant personnel within each NSI approved company have been security screened to British Standard 7858.
Q: Will the company I choose be capable of meeting the standard of workmanship and service I would expect?
A: NSI will only approve a company once it is capable of demonstrating technical and managerial competence and once approved is regularly audited to ensure consistency.
Q: If there is a problem with my alarm, how quickly can I expect the company to respond?
A: All NSI approved companies installing intruder alarms must operate a 24 hour call out service and must be able to respond to emergencies within a 4 hour period. (NSI companies who have installed a CCTV or Access Control system are expected to respond within 24 hours.)
Q: Once I have an alarm fitted – will I see the installer again?
A: With NSI, a maintenance contract will be offered to customers who have an alarm installed.
Q: Upon installation of an intruder alarm what will I be given?
A: You will be issued with a Certificate of Compliance from an NSI approved company
Q: Will I get a discount on my house insurance if I have a burglar alarm?
A: It is always advisable to check with your insurance company as policies differ between companies. However, many insurance companies do offer discounts for alarms installed by NSI approved companies

Does your burglar alarm go off whenever you have a power failure? Chances are the emergency standby battery in the control panel has failed.

There is nothing more annoying than a burglar alarm that constantly goes off for no reason, the end result is that people will just ignore it and that defeats the whole object and the purpose of having a burglar alarm in the first place. A common cause of false activations is a faulty emergency standby battery.
So what is the solution?
A burglar alarm system should be maintained and serviced on a regular basis (every twelve months, or every six months for a monitored system) and is often a condition of your insurers, on this maintenance and service visit the emergency standby battery will be checked and tested to show its current condition. If the battery is deemed insufficient then it will be changed. Rules and regulations state that a standby battery should be capable of powering the burglar alarm system for a minimum of 12 hours including a 15 minute full alarm period in the event of a power cut.
On average a standby battery will last between 3 – 5 years – when was the last time you had yours changed?

As part of our service we offer a 24 hour telephone support and call-out service to all of our customers how have a standing maintenance agreement with us for any of their security systems. So just in case they have a problem or question we are always there to help. We also receive calls out of hours from other people who are not under a maintenance agreement with Zodiac Security but have a problem with an existing security system.
The most common problem we get contacted about is some one who has entered a property and either has forgotten the code or not been told the code. And their first phone call is always to us is “surely you have a code that will turn off any alarm system don’t you?”
So to address this question:
1) No we do not know the code to your burglar alarm system, nor do we keep a record of the codes for any security system. That is the responsibility of the property or business owner.
2) There is no such thing as a super code that turns off every alarm system – I’m pretty sure that burglars and criminals would love to have a code like this!!!
3) Even if we did have a code for your alarm system (and we don’t) we wouldn’t give it out over the phone anyway – how do we know who you are???
So in summary, its you as the business or property owner to know and remember your codes, not your alarm companies.
